Zion Shad: Zion TCD (Tactical Combat and Defense) was actually created in the DUST 514 beta back in May of 2012 and our very few members have come from a wide variety of arcade gaming backgrounds. The rest of our members we picked up from random blue dots that we could find in pubbies. As no skilled players wanted to join us we just took anyone we could find. What drew me to DUST 514 is that I have been playing arcade games for well over 10 years and I am shallow. I decided to move with the crowd and hence decided to try out FPS. Since I got no skillz and Dust is free, I thought this would be the best game for me.
DFF: You come from the arcade scene. How is it competitive FPS different from the world of arcade gaming?
Zion Shad: Well for one Dust actually has a story line. After playing Alien Invaders which only had random aliens you can shoot at, the story line is a wonderfull addition. Its pretty cool! However in alien invaders it was easy to kill them pesky aliens. All I had to shoot was shoot at them. If I couldn't shoot them I would just use my cheat codes and kill them. However with competetive FPS, people actually shoot back at you. I dont like that one bit.
DFF: CCP recently introduced Corporations to DUST with our latest update, GÇ£CodexGÇ¥. What are the daily challenges of your role as a CEO?
Zion Shad: ISK! I have about 400 member, yet there is only 30 million ISK in my corp wallet. Those scrub members in my corp refuse to cough up the dough. Another problem is that I like to run my mouth a lot. Almost all the time I dont know what I am talking about. Its the internet though. Who cares? I also like to take credit for work other people do. Thats the biggest challenge only because not too many people are organizing events. If they did I would take credit and blow my trumpet to CCP.
DFF: Are you planning on expanding your alliance further with EVE Online-« players? What benefits do you think they can provide your organization?
Zion Shad: I do. I dont know how I am doing to do it considering I am broke, but I will.
DFF: What improvements would you like to see in DUST 514 to enhance your management role?
Zion Shad: I need be able to generate ISK. Thats my biggest problem right now. I started a few wars and now I am broke.
DFF: What is your vision of a DUST 514 corporation/alliance? How does it differ from a gaming clan?
Zion Shad: Well Hello! Its me! Zion Shad! I have no vision! Duh! I am just gonna wing it.
DFF: What do you have to say about the Goons infiltrating your alliance?
Zion Shad: Welp! I am pissed about it. The kittening Cerebral Wolf tricked me and got into my corp. But it was my fault. I discussed corporate strategy with all my noobs around. I do accept that I am scared of a lot of corporations out there even PRO but thats just because I am broke and a joke. Its hard to make the transition from arcade gaming to FPS shooters. Those guys are ruthless out there. I feel like crying right now. But big boys don't cry.
All I wanted to do is make some friends. I live in my moms basement. I am fat and ugly and no one likes me. Everybody needs friend so I took to the internet. But people are just mean here. I just want to make a few friends and people to like me.
DFF: Where can players go to learn more about your organization?
Zion Shad: Details about who we are and what we are about can be found at ZionTCD.enjin.com. Thank you.
